Well what an awesome week as we are all getting ready for the Awakening in Wellington and in our nation. There is no doubt we are coming very close to the return of Jesus and the Great MARRIAGE FEAST OF THE LAMB. Glory to God on High. We had two great anointed meetings on Monday and Wednesday night at Lerwick Tce where Pastor Kevin taught on ‘Walking in The Glory’ and the VICTORY that Jesus won for us all through His death and resurrection. We cannot encourage you enough to try and make these meetings as they are very helpful and assist us all in walking daily in the VICTORY that is available in Jesus.

 

A question born-again Christians so often ask:  "Why is it so hard and can often appear impossible to live the Sin free life and daily have available the anointing of the Holy Ghost to fulfil our destiny and calling in Jesus???"  Firstly we all need to find the source of all SIN and FLESH activity in our lives. The truth is - it is not until we try to deal with and remove these rebellious attitudes etc from our lives that we find out how irresistible and powerful they are. Many have tried and made many attempts to be Free from them, but so often lose the battle and end up discouraged and disappointed.  Firstly we must go to the root cause and the core of what is motivating you and I to Sin and Rebel.  All sinful habits have a common source. Yes, different sins have different consequences yet all sin is the same because it all originates from the same source. It originates from the corruption of our old rebellious sinful nature. We were all children of Satan until we sort Jesus and made Him our personal Lord and Saviour. ‘Self’ and our ‘Flesh’ have the      desire to put our interests above God's. It often manifests in three areas: 1. PRIDE.  2. Sensuality.  3. Covetousness. Our old nature always meticulously protects our reputation and weaknesses. These are propelled by the LUST of our Body as we seek and desire to possess things and people so that our confidence does not need to be in God.

 

In [Galatians 5: 19-21] we read there the list of sinful habits common to all men. All of these behavioural patterns have the same root or seed - OUR FLESH. The Flesh is a tree that has many branches bearing many kinds of fruit [sin] whether it be an outburst of anger, sorcery and control or even gluttony, they all originate and are controlled by OUR FLESH.  That is why we read in the Bible that "self-righteousness is so abhorrent to God” because without God's help and assistance we will all continue to fall short of God's GLORY. All SIN is REBELLION against God and fulfilling the desires of our FLESH, our MIND. Praise God He has the remedy for all these sins and weaknesses.

 

Let’s spend a few minutes and ask our conscience the following questions:

1. Do we have a secret SPIRIT of PRIDE?  An exalted feeling because of some success or position, or an independent spirit.

2. A love of human pride. A secret desire to be recognized, the love of supremacy, drawing attention to ourselves,       often by putting other's down by your conversation.

3. Being impatient, having a touchy-sensitive spirit. You never like been contradicted as you believe thoughts and ideas are always correct.

4. Fear of Man, fear of failure, often shrinking from reproach and confrontation etc.

5. A jealous disposition., having a secret spirit of envy shut up in your heart, getting greatly up-set when someone else has success and prosperity. Often majoring on people’s faults and failings rather than their talents and gifts as they are far greater than yours are.

6. A dishonest-deceitful attitude or character. Always evading and covering up the truth or denying the existence. Projecting a greater impression of who you are than is strictly true. False humility,      exaggeration, straining not to tell the truth as it is.

7. A spirit of unbelief and discouragement, especially when we are under pressure. Lack of confidence in God and trust in God, often when it comes to money.

8. Lack of or little concern for the LOST, often caused by lack of anointing and power which causes a sense of feeling inadequate.

 

Well, what is the answer? The Cross of Calvary is the only solution and is the basis for our forgiveness and deliverance, this only can destroy all of our stubbornness and rebellious attitudes. The Apostle Paul refers more than 100 times to believer's in CHRIST.  [2.Corinthians 5:17]  "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, the old things have passed away and behold all things now have become new".  God, has done what man could not do....He has given us a new nature and the personal presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives so that we can say NO TO OUR OLD FLESH, NATURE and now have the Power to say YES, to the New Life in Christ. We are dead to Sin, as the power of sin has been broken over the life of every true Born-again Christian. When we are totally surrendered to God we can live by FAITH, stay in the power of God's LOVE and walk in the VICTORY and develop a growing powerful relationship with God. Then saying no to your flesh is easy and Yes to Jesus becomes a way of life for you. AMEN.
